Guji - Ethiopia

Grown in Ethiopia’s Guji Zone, part of the Oromia region. This area is steeped in cultural heritage—home to the Oromo people and tied closely to their traditional practices. Guji has only recently (since 2002) become distinguished by name in the coffee world, separate from Sidamo and Yirgacheffe.

Farms sit at high elevations ranging from 1,800 to over 2,300 meters above sea level, creating a microclimate that promotes slow cherry maturation and complex flavors.

Primarily consists of Ethiopian heirloom (landrace) varietals—native strains not bred or modified.

Guji coffee reflects a deep connection to Oromo culture. Coffee has been integral to Guji society for centuries, deeply embedded in both spiritual and agricultural traditions.
